The pro-European and centred Freedom Movement of Prime Minister Robert Golob won 28.54 percent of the vote in the Sunday parliamentary elections in Slovenia. The Slovenian Democratic organization of the erstwhile Prime Minister Janez Janszy in turn received 28.17 percent of the support," said the State Election Commission (DVK) on the basis of 99.45 percent of the calculated votes.
The group of the current Prime Minister won 29 seats in the 90-member National Assembly. Jansza's score gives his organization 28 tickets.
Nine mandates were won by the fresh Slovenia organization coalition, the Slovenian People's organization and Focus, with six mandates by Democrats and Social Democrats, and the Left and Spring Coalition and the citizens' movement Resni.ca won 5 tickets each.
Sunday elections were the tenth in an independent past since 1991 Slovenia. By 4 p.m., 859 909 voters, or 50.73 percent of the about 1.7 million citizens entitled to vote, voted.
Election venues were open from 7 to 19. The Slovenians elected 90 MEPs to the National Assembly, of which 88 Members are elected in a proportional strategy in 8 constituencies and 2 additional seats are reserved for the Italian and Hungarian national minorities.
