President Andrzej Duda is presently in Rome, where he participates in the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the election of Karol Wojtyla as Pope. So far, the president – despite the consequence of the election, which is very bad for his home organization – does not rush back to Poland. Today, at 19 pm, the presidential couple will take part in a performance at the Basilica of Our woman the Greater, in which the Mazovia band will perform.
Shortly after 13th, however, the president found time for press conferences, during which he shared his thoughts on yesterday's elections.
Election 2023. The president praises Poles
Andrzej Duda started his message by congratulating the Poles on their gigantic election turnout.
– Over the past 34 years, these have been the elections with the highest attendance. I called for attendance and thank you very much for it. I thank all my fellow Americans, I know there have been people who have waited for hours to speak. all election is simply a test to the degree that we are a democratic, mature and refreshing society. We showed that we took matters into our own hands. We are all waiting for the State Election Commission to complete its work. Thank you for taking part in the elections to the Sejm, to the legislature for participating in the referendum – we heard.
Andrzej Duda besides bowed to all those who organized the elections. He gave peculiar thanks to the employees of the State Election Commission, but besides to “all those liable for the safety of Poland”.
– Thank you all. These elections went smoothly, you know, there's a war situation, we have a war across the east border, we have a hybrid attack from Belarus. I thank everyone who cared about Poland's safety at the time. Of course there were a number of insignificant incidents, but in terms of what could have happened they were only incidents," said Andrzej Duda.
