The PiS voters dream of this alliance, the remainder of Poland not necessarily. The poll reveals the truth

Most Poles do not want an alliance of PiS with the Confederacy. It is supported by 69 percent of the voters of Jarosław Kaczyński's party, but only 43 percent of Confederate sympathizers.

The thought of political matrimony of Law and Justice to the Confederate causes deep divisions and skepticism in Poland. The latest poll clearly indicates that specified an alliance has far more opponents than supporters. Almost 1 in 3 Poles are completely lost in this case and incapable to identify themselves.

A dream alliance, but mostly for the PiS

Analysis of electorates shows that this is an alliance of dreams primarily for the voters of Law and Justice. In this group, as much as 69 percent of respondents want specified a merger, of which 23 percent declare their strong support.

However, this enthusiasm is much cooler on the another side of the barricade. Among Confederate sympathizers, only 43 percent of respondents express support for the PiS marriage. The survey besides shows that this thought is pleasing to voters who supported Karol Nawrocki (56 percent in favour) and Sławomir Mentzen (49 percent in favour) in the last presidential election.

A powerful block of opponents

However, on "no" there is simply a powerful and compact block of voters. The biggest opposition is seen, which is not surprising, in the electorates of the Civic Coalition (up to 88% against) and the fresh Left (nearly unanimous 94% against). This coalition is besides not wanted by supporters of Rafał Trzaskowski.

This political division truly confirms a tough demography. The top scepticism towards the alliance of PiS and Confederacy prevails among elder citizens after the age of 60 (54 percent opponents), people with higher education (53 percent) and residents of the largest metropolises, with over 500,000 inhabitants (57 percent).

Women more "for," education "against"

A CATI and CAWI survey conducted on 3-5 November on the RMF FM opinion24 shows another interesting nuances. The thought of the coalition is somewhat more widely accepted by women (27%) than men (23%). The top openness to specified a arrangement prevails in the young age group 25-29 (33 percent are in favour).

The most skeptical, as confirmed by erstwhile data, are Poles with higher education. The support for the alliance is only 18 percent, compared with 27-30 percent in groups with primary and secondary education. The full discussion takes place in the context of the upcoming parliamentary elections in 2027. Although both parties combine a conservative social course and a tough attitude towards the EU, they share crucial differences in the approach to taxation or EU subsidies.

It's a cold shower on the PiS.

The survey is primarily a cold shower for Law and Justice. In fact, it shows gigantic asymmetry – while 69 percent of the PiS electorate dreams of this alliance, among Confederate voters only 43 percent want it. The PiS desperately needs this alliance for power, but the another side seems to see it as a deadly threat to its identity.
