Wrocław Communications Brigade hands over arms!

In the 10th Wrocław Communication Brigade, soldiers of voluntary primary military service (DZW) present took arms – a symbol of work and obligations towards Homeland. This is 1 of the most crucial moments of their military way. Today's celebration begins with a period of intensive basic training.

Another DZSW soldier turnout began basic training. Only yesterday, volunteers crossed the gate of the 10th Wrocław Communications Brigade, and already present they survived 1 of the most crucial moments in their soldier's life — the arms ceremony.

Handing over a weapon is simply a peculiar minute that is forever remembered. This is the first phase of the soldier's road leading to full service in the Armed Forces of Poland. The weapon is not only a tool of service, but besides a symbol of valor and honor. Its possession involves work to fellow arms, Homeland and Nation.

Soldiers undergo intensive preparations for further service, gaining theoretical cognition and applicable skills. The programme includes, among others, mustard, shooting, tactics and field studies, first aid rules and endurance elements. “Training combines explanation with practice, giving future soldiers a solid basis for further service,” stressed Brigadier, Major Piotr Bastkowski.

Handing over arms is 1 of the key moments of the “Holiday with the Army” programme, culminating in a solemn military oath. After completion of basic training, volunteers may proceed their service by undertaking 11-month specialist training.

Those who want to join the 10th Wrocław Communications Brigade will be able to do so during the military qualification scheduled for 9 September. – ‘The condition for entry is to execute 1 form of active military service: essential military service, professional military service, preparatory service or voluntary essential military service. An additional advantage will be the ability of candidates to have a driving licence and to complete courses and trainings that coincide with the specialization of the Brigade" - added Major Bastkowski.
