Inscription of the Institute of Jad Yours criticized by IPN and Sikorski

Scandalic entry

The Institute's inventory appeared on platform X on November 23. Your venom stated that Poland was the first country in which Jews were forced to bear signs distinguishing them from the remainder of the society, and the main intent of specified action was their isolation from the surrounding population.

The Institute continued:

On 23 November 1939, Hans Frank, politician of the General Governorate, issued an order that all Jews aged 10 and older had to wear a white, 10 cm wide material band on their right arm, marked with the Blue Star of David.

Missed context

The entry rapidly met with criticism of net users. He was perceived by them as possibly misleading due to the fact that he could propose that Poles were liable for actions against Jews during planet War II.

The users of the X platform added their own context, stressing that Poland was under German business at the time and it was Germany who introduced these regulations. Six hours after the first publication, Jad Yourmi added:

As many users have pointed out, and as clearly stated in the lynching article, this was done by the German authorities.

Sikorski and IPN criticize

Radosław Sikorski besides referred to the entry, commenting:

Please specify that it was Poland under “German occupation”.

The Institute of National Memory assessed the post of Jad Yours as unacceptable. According to IPN:

The deficiency of cognition of German regulations imposed on Polish society enslaved by the German Reich (including Jews) or ignoring them does not suit institutions specified as the Yad Vashem Institute.

The IPN stressed that it was the Germans who introduced the strategy of marking Jews, creating ghettos and the full apparatus of terror, and the persecution of the occupier against Poland was among the most brutal in Europe. The Institute besides pointed out that despite the death punishment for helping Jews, Poles provided the top support to the judaic population in the German-occupied areas, which is besides confirmed by the List of Jad Yours.
