Berg's "Wozzeck" is for modernism, as Wagner's "Tristan and Isolda" for Romanticism. It's an experimental but realistic communicative about a delicate man destroyed by a corrupt society. Berg's unprecedented fresh work premiered in Berlin Staatsoper a 100 years ago. On this occasion, the staging directed by Andrea Breth was recalled, and the performances were led by Christian Thielemann.
