They are quiet, almost invisible in the sky, and besides precise and effective - military drones revolutionize Polish armed forces. utilized in the battlefield can work for hours and distant control reduces the hazard to soldiers. They service not only defence, but besides increase preparedness to respond to crisis situations. There were two-day workshops in Radom aimed at developing unmanned air systems in the Polish Army.
The Territorial Defence Army Command, together with the 6th Mazovian Territorial Defence Brigade, organized a two-day workshop on the anticipation of acquiring and utilizing micro BSPs in the Armed Forces of Poland. Nearly 100 soldiers from all WOT brigades and invited speakers from another types of civilian troops and institutions participated in the workshops. The event was divided into theoretical and applicable classes, and their main goal was to familiarize themselves with the plans, intentions and trends of BSP improvement in the nano, micro and FPV classes.
Day One: explanation in Radom
On the first day, participants took note of the conclusions of the drone operation and the associated limitations in the WOT Brigades. The lectures discussed the legal and safety rules of BSP flights and method aspects of drone handling and production. The invited speakers presented the rules for the acquisition and exploitation of BSU obtained through donations, lending and own manufacturing, and the way in which budget appropriations are planned
The theoretical classes were highly interesting, I understood how immense the possible is in modern BSP systems. This is simply a completely fresh look at military operations, and at the same time a tool that truly helps to monitor crisis situations, specified as floods or the search for missing persons," said Corporal Marcin of the 6th Mazovia Territorial Defence Brigade.
Second day: practice in Pacev
On the second day of the workshop, the soldiers improved their skills during applicable drone flights and became acquainted with the latest products and systems in the civilian market.
The workshops represent another step in developing the competence of the Territorial Defence Army. Intensification of drone training is simply a consequence to the needs of the modern battlefield and crisis situations. The workshops were successful, bringing benefits to both individual participants and the full WOT structure – added Major Mateusz, the workshop participant.
