"Free France". fresh Giant for French Navy

France has launched a fresh generation aircraft carrier programme to replace the current Charles de Gaulle. The fresh unit, France Libre, will be about 310 metres long and displacement reaching 78–80 1000 tons, making it the largest warship in European history. Entry into service is planned for 2038 and sea trials are expected to begin around 2036 (preliminary entry into service was announced for 2035).
