Wolfowicz accuses Poland and Lithuania of "hybrid war" with Belarus

During the yearly gathering of the secretaries of the safety Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Moscow, Aleksandr Wolfowicz raised the subject of Poland, accusing her of deficiency of gratitude towards Belarus. He stated that his country sought to keep dialog and good relations with its neighbours, stressing that Neighbors don't choose.

We made a gesture, informing the Polish authorities in advance. any of us shot down in our territory and others did not, but we monitored what we saw and informed Poland. Poles were completely confused and unprepared for this – said Wolfovich.

He added that Poland is a country that wants to consider itself the first military country in Europe.

Secretary of the Belarusian safety Council expressed regret that Poland, in his opinion, instead of constructively expressing gratitude, establish dialog and objectively examine the reasons, simply He closed the border. He thus referred to the decision of the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs on 12 September 2025, which closed all border crossing points between both countries. Warsaw justified this step on safety grounds in connection with military manoeuvres “Zapad-2025” taking place in Belarus.

The West wants war?

In late October Lithuania besides decided to close the border with Belarus. Since 21 October, Lithuanian border services have noted many airspace violations by weather balloons coming from Belarus. As established, they carry cargo with illegal cigarettes. The authorities in Vilnius believe that the government in Minsk is behind it, which, as in the case of the migration attacks on the borders of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland which have continued since 2021, is utilizing these actions to destabilise the region.

Wolfowicz complains that the West ignores Belarus' calls for dialog and joint search for solutions to disputed issues. In his opinion, the western neighbors are taking action in the other direction.

The West is preparing for war. And to lead it, to justify the investments made in weapons, equipment and infrastructure, it needs a possible enemy. Where can he find the enemy? In the East. Russia and the Republic of Belarus? said the secretary.
