Strengthening air and rocket defence, expanding ammunition resources, saturation of the army with drones and anti-drone systems – this is part of the priorities contained in the "Polish Armed Forces improvement Programme for the period 2025–2039". Yesterday it was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and National Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The Armed Forces improvement Programme is fundamental to the military. The paper defines, among others, the number of armies, equipment or operational capabilities that it should have. State authorities are obliged to draw it up by virtue of the Homeland Defence Act. It is the basis for a further planning process, e.g. according to its guidelines, a detailed method Modernisation Plan is being developed.

The programme shall be approved erstwhile all fewer years. The erstwhile included the years 2017–2025. Since then, however, a large deal has changed – Russia has invaded Ukraine, and a number of hybrid actions have taken place towards the West. The war effort in east Europe has given impetus to developing fresh types of weapons and tactics. At the same time, the countries of the European part of NATO began to rapidly grow and modernise their troops. The fresh geopolitical situation had to be reflected in the improvement programme of the Polish armed forces.

RECLAMA

As MON reported today, on 22 December the paper was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and National Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The program's details are classified. However, the hotel acknowledges that priorities include strengthening air defence and rocket defence, expanding the essential supplies for the army – especially ammunition, saturation of troops with drones and anti-dron systems, capacity building in the fields of reconnaissance, mobility and logistics, and the creation of a modern training strategy and expanding preparedness for action in different domains.

Thus, there is much evidence that the records correspond to 7 key issues which General Wiesław Kukuła, Head of the General Staff of the Polish Academy of Sciences, mentioned in the context of the fresh programme. Last December, during the conference entitled "Inferences from the war in Ukraine – equipment and structure of the Polish army and civilian protection", he pointed out that the army's numbers must be increased and should make the ability to conduct synchronized multi-domain activities – not only on land, sea and air, but besides in information, cyber and space spaces. The Polish Armed Forces are to have weapons that will let to break the enemy's anti-access systems, dominance in the air and precise demolition of targets over a long distance. Additionally, further improvement of anti-aircraft, anti-missile and anti-drone defence systems, expansion of reserves, introduction to mass service of unmanned and anti-drone systems, yet improving the quality of command – for example by introducing artificial intelligence solutions.
