On 1 August, the results of the recruitment to military universities for the academic year 2025/2026 were announced. The facilities prepared a evidence number of seats for future officers. Another place in the ranking Land Army Academy General Tadeusz Kościuszko (AWL). This includes 958 seats in 4 directions: command (784 seats), safety engineering (119), logistics (40) and computer discipline (15).

Specificity of military universities

There are 4 military academies in Poland, in which the curriculum differs from those offered by civilian universities. Above all, military students are soldiers in active military service. Before the beginning of the academic year, they all undergo basic military training, which ends with a solemn oath, and after that they receive the rank of undergraduate. During the first year voluntary essential military service. After submitting an appropriate application, they have been engaged in professional military service since the second year of their studies. Military students besides have a limited vacation time of up to 1 month.

The program of military studies includes 2 parallel teaching modules: polytechnical and military. Both during and after classes, students are subject to all regulations and rigors in force in the military. At the end of college, each postgraduate takes 2 exams. Soldiers are waiting to defend their master's thesis and exam or officer's patent with military items. They are then appointed to the rank of lieutenant and can begin their work as professional soldiers.

Military studies in addition to cognition and education supply students with free accommodation in dormitories, full-day board and uniformation. In addition, each of them receives a monthly wage of the lowest wage of a basic professional soldier. In the first year of study, it is about PLN 6000.

Each military college is distinguished by a different specialty. WAT – the largest of them – combines military technology with the latest technologies. – Military studies at WAT warrant a solid method education. The training takes place in the course of uniform master's studies and is of both military and polytechnical nature, reported by WAT representatives.

The AWL educates first and foremost the future commanding staff of land troops and military doctors. – Military-medical studies, apart from the guidelines of the Ministry of discipline and Higher Education for medical studies, besides meet certain NATO criteria. The education programme is extended to include the area of alleged tactical medicine – a field of emergency medicine covering medical activities in combat conditions. Classes are conducted by erstwhile military doctors, soldiers in active service and reserve soldiers. AMW is the only military university in Poland to educate future naval officers. – In the maritime directions we implement a program in accordance with the STCW Convention – like the Maritime University in Szczecin and the Maritime University in Gdynia. Conditions for admission to military studies
