President Karol Nawrocki, who has been in the United States since Saturday, participated in the plenary debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. In his speech, the president powerfully criticized Russia and pointed out that he shares the opinion of American leader Donald Trump that Europe is making serious mistakes. He stressed that state borders have now ceased to be inviolable, and that global law is increasingly treated not as a valid regulation but as a guide.
We stand at the turning point of past – at a time erstwhile decisions made present will have consequences for decades. That is why, as a community of democratic states, we request to look at the current situation as a battlefield for principles that can find the future of our civilization. said Nawrocki.
The president stressed that Russia's attack on Ukraine should not be seen as a problem limited to 1 region, but as an effort to answer the question of whether the principles underlying the UN's operation would withstand the test of time. He besides recalled that immediately after the start of the war Polish society showed support to the Ukrainian nation, providing them with assistance in material, financial, military and diplomatic terms.

Karol Nawrocki recalled that on the night of 9th to 10th September, Russian drones struck an area owned by the NATO associate State. – As a result, Poland has been forced to open fire on hostile objects over our territory for the first time since planet War II. – he pointed out.
I assure you that Poland will always respond decently and is ready to defend its territory. (...) That is why we devote crucial amounts to the improvement of our defence capabilities, so we build the resilience of our country, but besides of our part of Europe. The Baltic States and Romania have besides been victims of akin provocations from Russia. said the president of Poland.
Russia must be accounted for
Nawrocki stressed the request for Russia to end its war effort and to presume full work for its consequences. He pointed out that the global community had an work to bring the country to account and that those liable for crimes should face the applicable global judicial authorities.
He pointed out that Poland supports the activities of the global Court of Justice and the global Criminal Court, and supports the initiative to make a peculiar ad hoc tribunal to justice the perpetrators of aggression.
As he pointed out, no war can pay off to aggressors – besides economically.
