War against Iran – who (no) has goals and strategies

Iran's attacks on the Gulf States since the beginning of this war have caused reactions to the misunderstanding of Iran's strategy. It is peculiarly astonishing that Trump himself suggested that this was a surprise for the United States. To underestimate your opponent is the top sin in war and the recipe for defeat. Meanwhile, nothing Iran does surprises. The problem is that Ali Chamenei's doctrine of "strategic patience" was mistakenly regarded as a sign of Iran's weakness and inability to effectively destruct his opponent.
