Hello, Palestine. Starting out, you have frequently shown in your reports the realities with which people surviving in Gaza meet during Israeli attacks. My first question is: what made you start reporting the situation in Gaza?
– I started reporting due to the fact that I wanted the planet to see what was happening in Palestine from the position of a Palestinian journalist. I didn't want to see my people killed and silenced.
Leading human rights organizations raised moral doubts about Israel's multiple attacks on the civilian population and the brutal conduct of military actions. How hard was it for you to be a writer in Gaza?
“It was not just hard to study on Gaza — it was an unimaginable emotional and physical challenge. As a journalist, I had to paper the destruction, death, suffering, but as a Palestinian, I lived it. all time I took a camera or entered live, I not only reported the war; I was a witness to how my home, my people and my own life fell apart in real time. There were days erstwhile I didn't know if I could live to tell the story. The raids were continuous and all second seemed to be my last.
Gaza isn't just a headline; it's my house.
I know this may be a hard subject, given all the tragedies you've experienced as a Palestinian, but if you feel comfortable adequate to answer what were the most hard situations in Palestine you've discussed in your reports?
– 1 of the hardest things was to start writing a household study and interviewing her, and the next day return to the next part of the study and learn that they were murdered.
From your position as Palestinian, what is the reality of ceasefire? There have been many reports of his violation by Israel. Wafa's news agency late reported the killing of 2 Israeli soldiers, including a five-year-old child, despite the truce. Do you anticipate Israel to respect the ceasefire?
"For Palestinians, a ceasefire is never a warrant of life or safety. This is simply a fragile, temporary break — 1 that can be interrupted at any time, without justice for those who died erstwhile that happened.
Palestine is inactive under Israeli occupation. Can you tell us what the reality of surviving in Palestinian territory occupied by Israeli troops is?
– Life under Israeli business means that all aspect of your life is controlled, limited and constantly threatened. However, the experience of the business is not the same everywhere — Gaza and the West Bank endure differently under Israel’s military rule. But in the end, we all endure under occupation.
In Polish society, as a reaction to the likely genocide of Palestinian citizens by Israel, there were various forms of activism. any people boycotted companies supporting Israel. There were universities whose students organized business strikes, specified as those at the University of Warsaw or Wrocław. What do you think of this kind of activism?
– I profoundly respect and appreciate anyone who sides with Palestine. The genocide in the Gaza Strip showed the planet the real cruelty of the Israeli occupation, and the sight of people around the planet refusing to stay silent is mobilizing.
Thank you for your answers.
It is estimated that more than 40,000 Palestinian citizens, including journalists and humanitarian organisations, have died in Israeli attacks until the truce was concluded. On January 15 of that year, a truce was reached between Hamas and Israel, officially ending military activities in the Gaza Strip. However, this situation is not stable. The communicative of the Israeli authorities seems to be more aggressive all erstwhile in a while and discussions about the next phase of the truce are strained. The next fewer weeks may be crucial for Palestinians.
