Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 17.01.2026):
- Due to further rocket and drone attacks on Ukrainian power plants and transmission terminals, the country is experiencing an energy crisis.
- In response, Ukrainians struck with their own drones, including the Riazian and Bielgorod region.
- On the Zaporosian section, the Russians occupied the Olenokostianniwka, located north of Hulaipol.
- The Ukrainian defence of Minkowka village fell. It was a very crucial position on the way to Slavic.
- W Bohorodic on the Liman section, Russian forces destroyed the key pontoon bridge, virtually holding back Ukrainian logistics in the area. At the same time, the storms of Limania itself continue.
- After Zakitne's occupation, the Russians proceed to invade along the river Donet.
- On the Charkowski Front, the Russians occupied most of the towns of Wołczańskie Chutory.
- Volodymyr Zelenski reported that the Ukrainian delegation is going to the US to discuss safety guarantees and papers concerning the post-war reconstruction package. He announced that Kiev is counting on signing agreements on the occasion of the planet economical Forum in Davos next week.
