Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 05.06.2026):
- Ukraine continues to strike long-range against military, energy and industrial facilities within the Russian Federation. Western analysts stress that the scale of these attacks has increased in fresh weeks, and Russian air defence systems are being forced to disperse resources in an increasingly large area of the country,
- Over the last 24 hours, the main weight of the fighting has been maintained in the pokrów, Slavic, Kupanski and the borderlands of the Sumsko and Kharków districts. Russian troops continued a series of local infantry raids supported by FPV drones and artillery, attempting to exploit the numerical advantage before full improvement of Ukrainian summertime activities,
- There's a fuel crisis in Crimea. For any customers there were no fuel cards, despite the authorities had previously guaranteed 20 litres per person. Ukrainians don't halt and after destroying fuel storage, attack with drones single tankers, driving to Crimea with oil and gasoline,
- On the Zaporo section, the Russians occupied the remaining part of Hulaipolskie. Another mark in this area is Nowoseliwskie,
- On the Buyan section, Russian forces invaded Hryhorivka and Colodiazne,
- On the northern section of the front, the Russians keep force in the Sumi Oblast, where they have been conducting actions to make a buffer region at the border for respective weeks now. Fights are underway for tiny border towns, and Russian assault groups are trying to grow the controlled area towards crucial logistics routes. At the same time Ukrainians run counterattacks on selected sections and effort to limit the possibilities of developing Russian footheads,
- Volodymyr Zelenski wrote an open letter to Vladimir Putin, in which he offers a private conversation. The president of Ukraine called for the end of the war. He stressed that Russia would not be able to occupy the full Donetsk region, but at the same time is itself ready for certain territorial concessions,
- According to reports from Berlin, Paris and London are analysing fresh options of political force on Moscow and possible formats for future peace talks. However, there are no indications that Russia is now ready for crucial concessions concerning the occupied territories.
