Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 02.07.2026):
- The most crucial event was the massive Russian wave of rocket and drone strikes on Kiev. According to the latest information, ballistic missiles and long-range unmanned missiles were utilized simultaneously. The attacks covered virtually all areas of the city, causing the collapse of parts of residential buildings, many fires and harm to civilian infrastructure. The balance of the victims remains variable with ongoing rescue actions – many wounded and fatalities have been confirmed. It was 1 of the largest raids on the Ukrainian capital in fresh weeks,
- Russia besides maintained force in front areas. There have been further attacks on civilian infrastructure in the dniepropetrovsk, Kherson and Chernihow region, including fuel stations and public transport. The Ukrainian authorities stress that the aim is to mark non-military objects, but in fact they are dual-use facilities. The demolition of gas stations (the last 24 hours have erupted as a consequence of drone attacks, among others, 2 stations in the city of Baturyn) has a real impact on the logistical capacity of the Ukrainian army,
- Ukraine continued the long-range strike run in Russia. Ukrainian drones again attacked fuel infrastructure, including the Ufa refinery and another military logistics targets,
- On the Zaporosian section, the Russians invaded Nowoandrijiwka close Orichov. In the east of the episode occupied the village of Kopani,
- Ukrainians counterattacked on the Lebanese section in the Redkodub village area. However, they were detained by a strong defence based on artillery support and drone swarms,
- Russia conducts local attacks north and south of Kupańsk, attempting to grow the docks on the western side of the Oskił River,
- On the Charkov Front, Russian forces again invaded the village of Ukrainians close the White Colonyaz,
- The Russians are conducting a reconnaissance of the fighting and tiny storms in the Junakiwka area and close towns, attempting to gradually approach the main Ukrainian defensive lines. According to ISW analysts, the most advanced Russian subdivisions are about 10 km from Sum administrative boundaries. However, they inactive do not have the power to launch operations against the city itself,
- New war failure analysis by CSIS experts was published. Estimates show that the full number of killed and wounded on both sides exceeded 2 million soldiers, while Russian losses stay importantly higher than Ukrainian losses. However, these are expert analyses and not officially confirmed data of the parties to the conflict,
- W The D.A.'s office accused a Ukrainian citizen of an investigation into the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines of 2022. The Ukrainian authorities proceed to deny the Ukrainian State's participation in this operation, but the issue has again become part of the political debate in Europe.
