Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 02.01.2026):
- Three Ukrainian drones attacked the cafe and hotel in Russia's occupied hotel Chorły on the Black Sea. 1 of them was moving the incendiary compound that caused the fire. 24 people were killed as a consequence of the attack and at least 50 were injured.
- Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) informed the president USA Donald Trumpthat Ukraine She didn't effort to assassinate Vladimir Putinwhich contradicts Russian claims that Ukrainian drones attacked 1 of the residences of the Russian president.
- Ukrainian military intelligence claims that he faked the death of Denis Kapustin – besides known as Denis Nikitin – a highly placed militant working with Kiev, commander of the alleged Russian Legion. Fake killing led to Ukraine receiving a $500,000 prize from Russia for killing Cabustin.
- Ukrainian forces conflict with expanding force in the south of Ukraine, especially in the Zaporo region, as shortages of soldiers make little equipped units little many than the invading Russian brigades.
- The Russian troops were moving forward through the open area and concentrated the fighting around the city of Hulaypole, which Moscow claims it won. - Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski reported that a gathering of national safety advisers “focused on peace” will be held in Ukraine this week. The next gathering is to be held between military leaders, European leaders and leaders of the Volunteers Coalition.
