Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 01.06.2026):

  • The last day was marked by further escalation of the drone war. Ukraine carried out a series of long-range strokes for infrastructure purposes in deep Russia. Among them were the oil refineries in Saratów, the fuel base in the Rostov region and the oil pumping plant “Lazariewo” in the Kirov region, hundreds of kilometres from the front line. The Russian Ministry of Defence claims over 200 Ukrainian drones were shot down, but any of the facilities were damaged and fires broke out,
  • The Russians continued the "economic campaign" in Ukraine. The drones destroyed a number of mill buildings in CZernichów, Dnipro and Kokurivce,
  • Ukrainian mid-range drones are increasingly important, which attack Russian operating facilities from respective twelve to respective 100 kilometres behind the front. According to military analysis, this forces the Russians to push back warehouses, command stations and supply routes deeper to the rear. In particular, this concerns logistical connections leading to occupied Crimea and confederate Ukraine,
  • On land, the hardest fighting continues to focus in Donbasa, especially in the Pokrovsk direction. However, the terrain changes are negligible – the war is typically positional,
  • At the Zaporosian scene, the Russians were advancing westward from Wozpankiwka towards Liubycki, but without crucial progress,
  • The Ukrainians withdrew from the western districts of Kostiantiniwka,
  • Russian forces have overrun the northern part of Kupansk,
  • On the Russian side, there is simply a communicative of the request to proceed conducting the military operation to accomplish the strategical objectives pursued. At the same time, increasingly frequent Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries, fuel retention and transmission infrastructure origin increasing logistical problems and increase force on Russian economical facilities. Restrictions on fuel sales and additional safety measures have already been introduced in any regions of Russia.
