Italian priest Vitaliano Della Sala calls for a figure of “Jesus the Girl” in the Christmas Nativity scene, which would be a large sin of blasphemy and ridicule of Catholic faith. The clergyman claims that the Lord God might have been a woman.
The scandalous words of the Italian clergyman came out on 3 December 2025 in an interview with local television. In his opinion, the placement of a female figure of the kid would provoke a debate over the admission of women to the Priesthood.
– There is large injustice, namely that women do not have access to priesthood. I've been reasoning about putting [in a nativity scene – ed.] the born girl Jesus, to say that if Jesus was born as a man, this does not mean that he favored us men, and excluded the anticipation that women would become deacons, priests, and—why not?—even bishops said Fr Della Sala.
This is not the first time that Fr Della Sala mocks the Catholic religion and insults God. In 2023, his play contained... 2 ‘momous’ Kids, 1 of whom wore a rainbow veil. In a clergyman's opinion, this was to symbolize “children from fresh types of families”.
In 1994 Pope John Paul II in his apostolic letter “Ordinatio sacerdotalis” made it clear that priestly ordination of women is not possible. In turn, in early December, the Vatican commission ruled out the anticipation of ordination of the deaconate for women.
