This unit is the equivalent of our lifeguard due to the fact that it will be designed to carry out all submarine work, including the rescue of submarine crews. In service, it will replace Anteo's rescue ship (A 5309), which raised the flag on 31 July 1980 and is inexorably approaching the end of its operation.
