UK: MFA chief warned Iran not to attack British targets

The head of British diplomacy Yvette Cooper present stressed that British defensive action in the mediate East is simply a reaction to Iran's attacks on neighboring countries. She warned the authorities in Tehran not to attack British targets – she gave the MFA in London.

Earlier on Friday, Iran's abroad Ministry reported a telephone conversation that the head of Iranian diplomacy Abbas Aragchi had with Cooper. Aragchi condemned London's approval to usage British military bases and warned that this would be treated as "participation in aggression".

In response, the British MFA published a communication on this conversation. "The abroad Minister (Cooper) has made it clear to the abroad Minister (Aragchi) that British defence operations in the region are responding to Iran's aggression against Gulf partner countries that did not attack Iran, and has called on Iran to immediately halt these reckless attacks on its neighbours," he wrote.
