The UK and Turkey have present signed a multi-billion-pound training and support agreement, which represents the next phase of the £8 billion contract for the transportation of Typhoon fighters, concluded in October 2025, announced the British Ministry of Defence.

According to the Ministry, the agreement provides for training in the UK of 10 Turkish pilots and nearly 100 groundhandling technicians specialising in mechanics, avionics, weapons and mission systems.

The agreement will besides guarantee that British companies manufacture components and spare parts for aircraft supplied to Turkey. This will include the supply of spare parts and ancillary equipment, associated training of engineers and pilots, advanced training simulators and electronic warfare capabilities.

The British government stressed that the full contract to supply Turkey with Typhoon fighters would guarantee that 20 000 jobs in the UK were maintained for highly skilled specialists over the years, as well as strengthening NATO's combat capabilities on the east flank of the Alliance.
