The British Ministry of abroad Affairs present reported that it called on Iran's Ambassador Sejjed Ali Musawi in connection with Tehran's "reckless and destabilising activities" in Britain and abroad.

The MFA message explained that the ambassador's call is simply a consequence of the decision to charge 2 men suspected of assisting Iran's intelligence services.

In early March, having dual British-Iranian citizenship, 40-year-old Nematollah Shahsavani and a 22-year-old Iranian citizen Alireza Farasati were arrested as part of an investigation involving spy activities for Iran. They are suspected of conducting a reconnaissance of goals related to the judaic community in London, including the oldest synagogue in large Britain.

"National safety remains our top precedence and we take Iran's threats and those who follow its instructions very seriously. The government will take all essential measures to defend British citizens, including exposing the reckless and destabilising actions of Iran both at home and abroad", the Ministry of abroad Affairs stated in a statement.

Earlier today, defence Minister John Healey confirmed that on Friday Iran fired 2 rockets towards a British-American military base on Diego Garcia Island in the Indian Ocean.
