The Russians sensed the moment. War in the mediate East, rising commodity prices and uncertainty in planet markets have created a situation which the Kremlin is trying to exploit. Vladimir Putin has stated that he is willing to supply energy resources to Europe as shortly as this is requested. However, he reserved that it was about cooperation "free from political pressure".
