During his visit to the Republic of Korea, the delegation held talks with president Lee Jae-myung and Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, as well as representatives of state administration and parliament. Cooperation in the defence sector was a key area of discussion, 1 of the pillars of bilateral relations, including the improvement of joint projects, the transfer of technology and the strengthening of industrial competences. During his gathering with the head of the DAPA agency, Lee Yong-cheol, Deputy Minister Paweł Bejda focused on industrial cooperation and searching for optimal cooperation models, taking into account the interests of the Polish defence industry.
The talks on fresh technologies, digitalisation and security, as well as economical issues, including balancing the trade balance and expanding the presence of Polish products on the Korean market, were besides an crucial component of the visit. atomic energy and modern energy solutions were besides addressed.
The next phase of the visit was Japan, where the delegation met with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and representatives of the nipponese Federation of economical Organizations - Keidanren. The talks afraid both economical cooperation and further strengthening bilateral relations, with a peculiar focus on security, investment and fresh technologies. Polish-Japanese relations, developed for years as part of the strategical partnership, cover a wide spectrum of cooperation, from economical issues to safety and global cooperation issues.
During the talks on the defence area, Paweł Bejda met with Deputy Minister of Defence Masahis Miyazaki, focusing on strengthening military cooperation, exchanging experience and building long-term safety cooperation mechanisms.
The visit confirmed the increasing importance of Poland's relations with the east Asian countries, and its key consequence was to rise relations with both the Republic of Korea and Japan to the level of a comprehensive strategical partnership.
