The talker of the Sejm, Simon Holovnia, announced on Thursday that he would propose a bill that assumes that, in justified cases, MEPs can be examined with a breathalyst.
MP KO Artur Łącki said in the Sejm that during the Wednesday gathering of the Rules Committee, "a group of PiS MPs, and mostly a MP" wanted to survey themselves with a breathalyst due to the fact that "she was not certain of her motor and intellectual condition."
"I, as a individual of good, wanted to aid them. I asked the defender to bring a breathalyzer, but it turned out that the Sejm had only 1 specified device, which was in calibration yesterday unfortunately" - said Łąki, adding that he was making a formal application for the Sejm's Chancellery to buy a breathalyzer, so that "the PiS MPs, and especially the MPs, could always examine themselves with a breathalyzer (...) in the Sejm".
Łącki was addressed by the Marshal of Hołownia, who announced that he would search legal changes that would let for examination of Members for alcohol in the blood.
"Dear Members, I will propose a bill due to the fact that it is essential to amend the bill to let Members to come to work, in justified cases to examine with a breathalyst" - announced the Holownia. He said, The plenary area and parliamentary committees are places where there can be no "for being under the influence of alcohol".
"I realize that we will have, after what happened yesterday, after Mr Łącki spoke, over-party consent on this matter," Hołownia said.
Was the MP drunk?
According to the media, during the Wednesday gathering of the Rules Committee, it was PiS MPs who accused Łącki of being intoxicated and asked for a breathalysed examination. There was no breathalyst in the Sejm, so the associate was not yet examined, although he expressed his will.
