In more than a 1000 years of existence, our country has repeatedly – and sometimes to a large degree – changed its borders with its neighbours. The current borders of Poland were established after the Second planet War, which resulted in the recovery of the alleged "Leaderland" and part of Prussia, at the expense of the east ends. Most border lines are established in the treaties, but there are inactive any delays in this issue. For more than half a century, the Czechs have owed us little than 400 hectares of land, which the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs now wants back.

It is the alleged Czech territorial debt, whose past dates back to 1958. Then the authorities of Czechoslovakia and the Polish People's Republic decided to correct the common border. This 1 has been ‘corrected’. As part of the procedure, Poland transferred 1205 hectares of territory to the Czech Republic, and in return we received 837 hectares. That's how a debt of 368 hectares arose. Poland has been unsuccessfully demanding that the Czech Republic return the area with this area for years.

The debt includes the land adjacent to the village of Bodzanów in gm. Deaf people and gm areas. White Water.

The MFA will effort to recover almost 400 hectares of Polish land which the Czechs have not returned since 1958

Recent attempts to recover the land held by the Czechs were made in 2015. The Czech government then approved a list of plots to return to Poland. A joint Permanent Polish-Czech Border Commission was besides established. In spite of the efforts of both sides, the substance is deadlocked. The Czechs declare that the land should be returned to Poland, but... should go to the Czech Church.

In 2021, attempts to execute territorial debt were made by then Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The Czech Prime Minister Andrzej Babisz, who then ruled in the Czech Republic, did not take a position, but was limited to the announcements of ‘intergovernmental consultations’ – recalls ‘SE’.

The fresh government besides wants to effort to recover Poland's land. The efforts in this respect were announced by the Ministry of abroad Affairs Radosław Sikorski.

"It is planned to resume Polish-Czech consultations at expert level. Their aim will be to present the views of the parties on how to regulate Czech territorial debt and, above all, to get detailed information from the Czech side on the reasons for withdrawing from the 2015 findings. The aim of the Government of the Republic is to yet regulate this issue, and the final form in which the agreement will be reached will be the subject of bilateral negotiations", the Ministry of abroad Affairs stated in consequence to the question "Fact".
