It is estimated that the NFZ will lose as much as PLN 6 billion. The Law and Justice organization is informing that it is another billion that increases the budget gap of the state insurer. This is expected to be 20 billion PLN. The organization tabled amendments to the amendment, which are intended to safe additional backing for the NFZ. The funds would be transferred from public media subsidies and... 800 plus.
Law and Justice have taken a very extremist step, given their existing social transfer policy – including the 800 plus standard they themselves have introduced. In their amendments to the amendment of the law reducing the wellness contribution, organization politicians proposed to redirect funds from 800 plus and subsidies to public media to the National wellness Fund.
In early April, the Sejm passed fresh regulations that introduce a modified strategy for charging wellness contributions. Namely, the basis for the contribution is to be broken down into 2 parts – a lump sum and a percentage, which will be charged to the surplus income generated by the economical operators. The reconstructed strategy is expected to start operating at the beginning of 2026.
They enjoy entrepreneurs who benefit from changes, but – as usual – so that individual can gain, who else must lose. The costs of the revised government will be borne by the National wellness Fund, already in debt to the traffic jam. The modified strategy for calculating the wellness contribution means that the revenues of the state budget are reduced by PLN 4.6 billion.

Mariusz Błaszczak from PiS warns that it could be even PLN 6 billion. "An additional PLN 6 billion will should be added to the current 20-billion hole," the politician believes.
In response, the PiS parliamentary club drew up a draft resolution against the “privatisation” of wellness protection. In addition, amendments to the amendment were besides developed, which safe the missing PLN 6 billion to the NFZ by redirecting funds from another parts of the budget.
"The measures for this intent are to come from 2 sources: the provision for financing the alleged neo-public media, namely TVP in liquidation and Polish Radio in liquidation, and the limitation of the 800 plus programme for Ukrainian families who do not work in Poland, do not pay taxes here and their children do not attend Polish schools" - explained Błaszczak.
