
The European Parliament voted on Tuesday to waive the immunity of Grzegorz Braun. The MEPs decided that immunity would no longer be granted to him. This means that the presidential candidate can be charged with 7 crimes, which, as the Minister of Justice has announced, intends to do the territory Attorney's Office in Warsaw.
In the vote held on Tuesday, May 6, after 12:00, Members of the European Parliament decided to waive the immunity of Euro MP Grzegorz Braun – 1 of the candidates for president of Poland.
The repeal of immunity policy opens the way for the territory Attorney's Office in Warsaw to charge him with 7 crimes .
"Two of them concern violations of physical integrity and insults of a doctor – the manager of the National Centre of Cardiology. 3 more concern the various actions of the Chuligans, and the last 2 allegations – the scandalous behaviour of G. Braun in the Polish Sejm – the public insult of the subject of spiritual worship and the violation of the physical integrity of the intervener" – said Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar in his entry on platform X.
Subsequent investigations concern events involving Grzegorz Braun in Biała Podlaska and Oleśnica. A fewer days ago, during Braun's rally in White Podlaska, the Ukrainian flag was taken off the building of the local office. An even louder incidental involving politics took place in April in Oleśnica. Braun then attempted to make a "citizen detention" of a gynecologist who had an abortion in 9 months of pregnancy.
Minister Bodnar stated that Braun's "scandal statements" during the presidential debate were besides investigated.
