Father's Day is 19 March? The endorsements were signed to the Sejm

The Center for Life and household has sent over 74 100 signatures to the Sejm to support the “Father's Day” initiative. The run aims to establish the celebrations of Father's Day for March 19, i.e. for the celebration of St. Joseph.

“All men, regardless of their political views, should be inspired by the figure of St. Joseph,” said Paweł Ozoba, president of the Centre of Life and Family, during the press briefing just before signing the run “Father's Day again!” As he stressed, in a time of crisis, St. Joseph is simply a model for modern times.

The goal of the campaign, supported by 74,000 people, is to change the date of the Father's Day to the day on which we celebrate the feast of St. Joseph.

The initiative has quite a few public support. We trust that politicians in their work to each another and encourage the large support of the public will decide to support it," said Paweł Ozdoba during the press briefing held at the monument of the Polish Underground State and the Home Army, close the Sejm building.

As the president of the Center for Life and household noted, Father's Day is celebrated on 19 March in Italy, Portugal, Croatia and another countries in the world, especially in akin Polish cultural circles.

“We believe that St. Joseph is simply a figure so universal and crucial that it is worth remembering in the modern world,” said Paweł Ozoba.

And in today’s reality, there is no uncertainty the urgent request for specified patterns and authority. Women, wives, and mothers besides observe this.

– We request active fathers, husbands, men liable and mature who can take care of families, take work for them. (...) We believe that St. Joseph can strengthen fathers in the attitude of responsibility, maturity, vocation as a fatherhood – emphasized Aleksandra Gajek from the Center of Life and household and the March.info portal.

The press briefing was besides attended by representatives of communities and organisations who supported and promoted the run throughout the campaign. At this point, it is worth emphasizing the commitment to collect the signatures of the Warriors of Mary, the Catholic Action and the Knights of John Paul II and the Knights of Columbus.

Prof. Tadeusz Kulik, president of the Catholic Archdiocese of Warsaw, who took part in the briefing, reminded that the AK from all over Poland has joined the initiative, and St. Joseph is simply a very good model of manhood and responsibility.

And these patterns are urgently needed, due to the fact that present there is simply a problem of the deficiency of maturity of men and boys.

– The younger the generation, especially those raised after a period of transformation, in another conditions, to put it mildly, many of them are underresponsible. (...) They are not prepared to be a father. frequently this may be a mother’s educational error, as women frequently indulge their sons, justifying them. (...) Raising is an investment in the future. My generation brought up in times of communism met with attacks, difficulties, but is prepared to live," he said in a conversation with March.info.

The run was besides supported by the community of the Warriors of Mary, which unites and forms men and fathers in which St. Joseph is simply a model. Andrzej Grabowski, typical and coordinator of the Warriors of Mary, recalled that a crisis of manhood is being observed.

– Many of the men who come to us have no father and husband patterns. It's a problem due to the fact that erstwhile they get married, in a family, they don't know how to behave. That's why our community is here to teach you how to be a good husband, a liable father. (...) This community, in which we talk about challenges, share problems, experience strengthens us, changes our reasoning – he spoke to March.info, pointing to the request for men's formation.

In turn Janusz Paczkowski, the provincial general of the Order of John Paul II, appreciated the initiative and pointed to Saint Joseph as the patron of families, from which the community derives a model.

– If we look at the life of St. Joseph, we see much suffering, much humility. I think it is God's grace that men would have a patron for these times," he concluded.
