Will Alcohol Get More Expensive? The legislature Approved Higher Excise taxation Rates

On Tuesday, the legislature approved, without amendments, a bill providing for a higher increase in the excise taxation on alcoholic beverages in 2027. The additional gross from the increase is to be transferred to the National wellness Fund. Eighty-five senators voted in favour of the amendment; no 1 voted against it or abstained. The bill now awaits the president’s decision.
