Most Germans support the return of the draft

In a survey of the Institute of Fors 41 percent were against, and 5 percent abstained from making a decision. The biggest supporters of compulsory enlistment are the voters of CDU/CSU block, where 74% of them advocate its restoration. 58% of respondents are of the same opinion among SPD sympathizers. Only supporters of the Left mostly (80%) argue compulsory service.
