More money for shooting ranges in the county

The Ministry of Defence initiated the task "Strzelnica w powiat" which has been helping to rebuild tiny arms infrastructure and make shooting across the country for 8 years. This year more than 1 100 cities, municipalities and districts will benefit from backing for classical, virtual and pneumatic shooting sites, which were awarded a full of about PLN 18 million.

This year 5 contests were held under the programme “Shoot in the District”I'm taking care of. Central Military Recruitment Center. The results of the first 2 were announced in June and in October we met the last beneficiaries. These competitions are conducted under the National Defence Minister's Regulation of 6 July 2018 on the co-financing from the state budget of tasks related to the construction, renovation and maintenance of shooting ranges and the improvement of shooting sport. specified facilities, for which municipal, region and municipal authorities are responsible, must enable “organised shooting training, in peculiar among young people, members of pro-defence organizations and soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and officers of armed formations not part of these forces”.

Initially, the program was directed to local governments liable for classical shooting ranges, but for 4 years it has besides been possible to apply for grants for air and virtual shooting ranges (e.g. for secondary schools with military preparation units). Like last year, the most offers were in the air and virtual shooting ranges.

In 2 competitions this year for virtual shooting ranges, MON indicated 113 local government units, to which grants were granted for a full amount of almost PLN 15.5 million (maximum PLN 200 1000 per investment). The co-financing of the construction of closed-type pneumatic weapon ranges active 2 of this year’s “Shootshooter in the District”. And while the first one, decided in June, indicated 2 beneficiaries (total of PLN 411,147), the second 1 (the consequence was announced in October) the only 2 municipalities that submitted their offers did not meet the formal requirements.

The 5th competition of this year active classical shooting ranges in 5 different variants, differing in distance (50–200 m), construction (covered, modular), adaptation to dynamic shootings, in respective directions, utilizing subcarabines, automatic rifles, device guns, etc. In this competition the largest grants are offered each year (up to PLN 8 million), but curious local government units can be counted on the fingers of 1 hand. This year, only 2 of the local governments that submitted their offers did not meet the formal requirements. The only beneficiary for the construction of the classical weapon scope was the City of Sokołów Podlaski with backing of PLN 2,024 609.20.

For comparison, last year only 1 region entered the competition for the classical range, which nevertheless did not meet formal requirements. The construction of the air weapon scope was supported by 7 units (more than PLN 2 million). 12.5 million PLN (83 offers) were allocated to the virtual shooting ranges.

The beneficiaries of the “Strzelnica w powiat” competition traditionally have time to complete the task by the end of next calendar year, with rules allowing the backing of the task already started.
