As of 6 February, fresh rules on housing services for professional soldiers apply. The minimum amount of this work was raised to PLN 900. The changes will include soldiers from 47 garrisons, and payouts will take place with alignment from 1 October 2025. The intent of the amendment was to compensate for the differences in the lower benefit limit between the uniformed services.

Housing benefits are 1 of the options which the Act on the accommodation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland guarantees to professional soldiers. For the money received, they can rent an flat or pay the credit they have taken to buy their own “M”. The monthly amount is equal to the product of the base rate of PLN 300 and the ratio, depending on the garrison in which the soldier is serving. Until recently, the second ranged from 2.1 to 6, which in practice meant that all period soldiers could number from PLN 630 to PLN 1800.

As the representatives of the MON then argued, the aim was, among another things, to compensate for differences in the payment of these fees in various uniform services.
The legislative work lasted respective months and yet the regulation entered into force on 6 February. According to him, the minimum rate increased from 2.1 to 3. The maximum limit remained unchanged (indicator 6), as did the basic rate. In practice, the lowest benefit is now, as in the case of officers, 900 PLN.
The amendment will benefit soldiers from 47 garrisons in which the housing benefit rate is presently lower than 3. The most change will be felt by those who service in among others in Łęczyce and Chełmno, where the increase will be 330 PLN (the rate was raised from 2.1 to 3, and the benefit increased from 570 PLN 900 PLN) and in Sandomierz and Drawsko Pomorski (the rate was raised from 2.2 to 3, the increase in the benefit from 660 PLN to 900 PLN). By 180 PLN a period more will be given to soldiers from Inowrocław and Brodnica (the current indicator is 2.4), and by 90 PLN the benefit for military servants specified as Hrubieszów, Giżyck and Lidzbark Warmiński (the current rate was 2.7).
– Soldiers expected changes in the benefit system, which would be more realistic, so present we welcome changes in regulations. There is no request to hide that the unchangeable housing situation is 1 of the key elements of social security, on which soldiers build their readiness to act," said Colonel Krzysztof Yewgeejuk, president of the Bureau of Professional Soldiers' typical Bodies. He adds that raising the minimum benefit limit is not only real financial support. "It is besides an crucial signal that regular service is appreciated and the ministry is open to dialog on social conditions, which translates into a real improvement in the quality of soldiers' lives," noted the officer. In this context, he besides stresses that typical bodies will take action to guarantee that the amount of housing benefit for soldiers in the individual garrisons is not lower than that received by officials under the Ministry of abroad Affairs. presently there are cases that e.g. a police officer receives a higher benefit than a soldier serving in the same city.
This is not the only amendment introduced by the fresh regulation. The amendment besides includes indicators for 2 fresh garrisons created in 2025: Ciechanów and Tarnów. For the first one, the rate is 3.3 (the amount of the benefit is PLN 990), and for Tarnowa PLN 4.3 (1290). The coefficients are akin to the garrisons of Przasnysz and Kraków, which previously belonged to Ciechanów and Tarnów.
According to the MON, the fresh regulations included a full of over 36,000 professional soldiers from 47 garrisons and about 674 military men who began their service in the fresh garrisons. The housing benefit of the fresh amount will be paid off with compensation from 1 October 2025.
Housing benefits are the most frequently chosen option in the military for accommodation. all year, the number of professional soldiers who receive them increases. In 2023, 85,795 benefits were paid on average per month, in 2024 – 100,744, and in April 2025, 108,400 soldiers were paid.
