The politician calls for force on the European Union to block the funds allocated to arms and rebuild the country in the face of the ongoing war, making it dependent on the change of attitude of the authorities in Kiev. In his speech for television, the PiS candidate stated:
"The European Union, including our position in the European Union, must be forced to halt backing in any way in Ukraine and rebuild Ukraine at this minute until Ukraine enters the way of pro-human values".
Acute reactions
The policy message provoked criticism from representatives of the ruling coalition and commentators who accused him of gathering the policy objectives of the Russian Federation. There have been many voices on social media accusing politics of acting against the safety of the state. Krzysztof Sałek, MEP of the Civic Coalition, commented on Czarnek's attitude, writing:
"Practically since the beginning of the war Putin has been doing everything to discourage EU countries from assisting Ukraine with military aid. Thousands of bots, millions of rubles, blackmails, diversions and threats to accomplish this, which will let Russia to win. Other representatives of the ruling coalition, including Euro MP Dariusz Joński and organization politicians Together, identified the attitude of the PiS candidate as extremist and dangerous, assessing it in the context of the alleged approach of Jarosław Kaczyński to the rhetoric utilized by pro-Russian communities. Critics point out that specified declarations can form part of the fight for the electorate for anti-Ukrainian attitudes.
