Why is Vladimir Putin so afraid of Tomahawk missiles?

On Sunday Vladimir Putin again warned that the transportation of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine would "destroy Russian-American relations". This is another specified speech by the Russian leader; another in which he almost openly expressed his concerns about this American weapon. Why is he so afraid of Tomahawk missiles?
