In Belarus and Russia there are military manoeuvres of Zapad-2025. According to Belarus expert Krzysztof Fedorowicz, they can accomplish many goals at once. It is not only about maintaining the military's combat capacity, but about the political objectives of Moscow and Minsk, specified as maintaining an atmosphere of fear in Belarusian society and diverting Europe's attention from the Moldovan elections.
