Who does the Military Service work include?
The work of military service in Poland applies primarily to men who received the "A" category during the military commission. This is an indication of the ability to carry out military service. Furthermore, under certain circumstances, vocation may besides include women, especially those with skills and specializations useful to the army.
Appointments in 2024 – Key Numbers
In 2024, according to the draft regulation of the Council of Ministers, the appointments to the military will include various forms of military service. The calling is planned:
- Up to 200,000 reserve soldiers for military exercises,
- Up to 17 128 people for professional military service, including persons in training,
- Up to 10,000 reserve soldiers under the active reserve, for an indefinite period,
- Up to 38,000 reserve soldiers and persons with a regulated attitude to military service to the Territorial Military Service.
Military exercises can be of a different nature – from short-lived, long-term, to rotational, which gives any flexibility in their organization.
Who won't be called?
Although vocations include a crucial number of people, there are respective groups that may be exempted from the work to attend military exercises in 2024. These include:
- Persons with category ‘D’ or ‘E’ – Obtaining the military category ‘D’ (temporaryly unfit for service) or ‘E’ (permanently unfit for service) excludes the anticipation of enlisting.
- Persons with Permanent wellness Contraindications – Those who have medical records confirming permanent or temporary wellness contraindications can avoid vocation.
- Students and Students – regular learners may apply for a postponement of service until graduation.
- The Only household Reapers – Men who are the only household providers can be relieved of their work of service.
- Women with no peculiar qualifications – Women who do not have specialist skills useful to the military and have not previously carried out military service are not subject to the appointment obligation.
What to do to avoid vocations?
If you meet any of the above conditions, it is worth contacting the Military Complementary Command (WKU) and make certain that appropriate documentation has been submitted and accepted. It is crucial to take these measures in good time to avoid unnecessary complications.
