For more than a period now, the Social Election Committees established at the initiative of the Polish citizens have organised public hearings of candidates for the European Parliament.

These hearings are part of the Citizens Have Voice programme, which aims to guarantee that, starting with the autumn elections, no 1 can become a Member, a Senator, a Euro MP without vetting citizens. 'True democracy is erstwhile civilian society is active at all stage.'

On 22 May, the last public proceeding prepared by the SCF was held. After the meeting, the Convention summarized the hearings and evaluated the candidates.

Of the 8 candidates submitted, we listened to six. We did not conduct the proceeding of Elizabeth Stępień (8th place on the EC list) and Jerzy Przystawajko (2nd on the Left List Together). Both, despite erstwhile arrangements, did not meet the deadlines. They decided to stay in their hometown (p. Przystajko – Opole, p. Stępień – Legnica). 1 individual from the Spring organization resigned from the proceeding - Mr Krzysztof Śmiszek No. 1 on the list of Spring, another candidate was appointed to replace him.

Unfortunately, Mrs Janina Ochojska, who agreed to the proceeding on 24 March, could not appear, received an invitation, but it was not possible for wellness reasons.

Six candidates and candidates participated in the hearings:

Wojciech Browarny
Marta Lempart
Katarzyna Lubiecki-Różyło
Krzysztof Mieszkowski
Michał Syska
Marcelina Zawisza

Moderators at the hearings were: Katarzyna Kaczorowska, Leszek Budrewicz, Mateusz Kokoszkiewicz. Experts - Małgorzata Michalewska-Jzeszniak, Ludwik Turko and Leszek Budrewicz.

Six people who participated in the hearings were very well prepared from the topics concerning the European Union. They were able to answer in item the questions why and why they were moving for the EP and what faction they wanted to belong to, what committees they wanted to work in. Everyone agreed that the expanding nationalist movements were a major threat to the European Union.

It must besides be stressed that, in addition to education, these young people have experience in social, pro-democratic activities. They are active, committed to defending human rights including, very actively, women's rights.

Despite specified a advanced evaluation of the candidates, we decided not to give recommendations, although we powerfully support everyone and each of the candidates and candidates heard. specified a message will appear on social media sites. Anyone who is heard can at least present our “green foot” stamp tomorrow.

"We managed to show that the biggest force in Poland is not political parties and their structures, but the organised citizens and citizens who are able to decision many mountains. And in an incredibly short time.”

We haven't moved her yet. But how will there be more of us ...?!
