Arms imports to European countries from 2021 to 2020 were more than 3 times higher than in the erstwhile five-year period. During this time The United States has strengthened its position as the world's dominant arms supplierand Russia's exports have clearly decreased.
The largest recipient of large weapons systems in the planet was UkraineThat's where it went. 9.7% of global supply. Between 2021 and 2025, most of the weapons transferred to that country came from United States (41%), Germany (14%) and Poland (9.4%).

Among NATO countries, the largest arms importers in Europe during the period considered were Poland and the United Kingdom. For Poland arms imports increased by 852% compared to 2016-2020which reflects the intensive modernisation of the armed forces.
Export from the United Stateswhich stay the largest weapon supplier in the world, increased by 27%with US arms sales to Europe increased by 217%.
France ranked second among global arms exportersresponsible for 9.8% of global supply. From 2021 to 2025 French exports increased by 21%. Although arms sales to another European countries have increased more than 5 times, Nearly 80% of deliveries went outside Europe, mainly to India and Egypt.
