It is the railway, not the energy sector, that is the main beneficiary of funds from the sale of CO2 emanation allowances. This could change with the establishment of the Energy Transition Fund, but successive finance ministers do not want to reduce the billions they gotta distribute in the budget. In 2024, Poland sold allowances for 16.4 billion PLN. This year, the amount will be even higher.
