When a alien wants to give us something, we get suspicious. If individual came to us on the street and wanted to give us PLN 1,000, would we take them?
However, fewer people wonder why Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Open AI or another Google are mostly available for free.
The above (and other) companies do not share their programs with us due to the fact that they are so loved, but they gotta gain money somehow. Of course, everybody's gonna say they make money on advertising. They're making money, but I'm beautiful certain that's not the main origin of their income.
For example, Google Maps does not have any ads, and it is an absolutely wonderful program that makes travel so easy. The question is, what does Google have in that we have this superb navigation? They're most likely paying something from telecommunication companies, most likely paying Uber or Bolt. But I am convinced that this is not the main origin of income.
Or what?
I fishy the most crucial commodity is information about us users of these programs. It is paid by governments, parties, various companies, and I do not regulation out that the criminal world.
Is there anything we can do about it?
I don't think so, but it's worth realizing.
