The Kremlin pays families of fallen soldiers so much money that even those surviving in the poorest regions can afford to buy a car, an flat or pay off debts. Whether this will permanently increase their material position – we will see. Surely, however, the ellipse of those who want the war on Ukraine to proceed shortly is expanding.
