Which politicians turned out to be leaders of the Polish political scene in the media?

According to Media Monitoring Institute (IMM) in 2021, Law and Justice politicians spoke in the media more than 3 times more frequently than representatives of the opposition Citizens' Coalition, 14 times more frequently than members of the Left and 23 times more frequently than activists of the Polish Coalition. The most popular media people from this period are Mateusz Morawiecki, Andrzej Duda and Michał Dworczyk, who were present in all mass media for a year as many as 300 1000 times. Reaching[1] their speeches and speeches amounted to over 7.4 billion contacts. Among the 20 most media active politicians there was no woman.

Most materials with the participation of the Prime Minister appeared in August as a consequence of the crisis on the Polish border with Belarus. According to IMM, a statistical Pole over the age of 15 may have been in contact with the transmission of the Prime Minister almost 3 times a week on average (it reached 4.5 billion contacts)[2] . The second most media individual was president Andrzej Duda – in all media types he was present more than 67 1000 times, which translated into reaching the statistical Pole over erstwhile a week (2.3 billion). The 3rd most noticeable policy in the media was Michał Dworczyk, head of the Chancellery of the president of the Council of Ministers (64 1000 speeches), who at that time spoke mainly in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus epidemic. With a somewhat lower score, Zbigniew Ziobro from Solidarna Polska was placed on the 14th place. 2 meshes below the Polish People's organization represents Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz (13 thousand). Szymon Hołownia of the group Polska2050 occupies the seat of eighteenth (12 thousand), and the list closes Paweł Kukiz (10 thousand) from the Kukiz’15 party.

In politics, the voice of women in minorities

There are only 18 women on the list of 100 politicians who were regularly seen in the media. The first 3 places among them belong to PiS activists. The most active 1 was Elżbieta Witek, who ranked 22nd in the ranking. The Sejm Marshal in 2021 was present in all media types nearly 9.5 1000 times, most frequently during meetings with representatives of clubs and parliamentary circles, on actions concerning the fight against the pandemic and vaccination action against COVID-19. Each Pole could hear a message from the Marshal of the Sejm on average erstwhile a period — over 496 million of her appearances. On the twenty-fifth place was the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Marlena Maląg with a number of just over 9,000 messages. Anna Milchanowska was placed below the eye, and last year PiS MP spoke, including 8.7 1000 times. She was besides the club's most active typical on Twitter, with over 8.7 1000 tweets and retweets appearing on her profile on political topics in 2021.

Among the parliamentarians with the top vulnerability in the media were Anna April (PiS), Anna Maria Żukowska (Nowa Lewica), Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska (PO), Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska (PO), Katarzyna Lubnauer (Modern), Izabela Leszczyna (PO), Anita Czerwińska (PiS), Agnieszka Kołacz-Leszczyńska (PO), Iwona Michałek and Magdalena Sroka (Understanding), Joanna Lichocka (PiS), Barbara Nowacka (Inicjatywa Polska), Hanna Gill-Piątek (Polska2050), Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk (Nowa Lewica), Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz (PO), Joanna Scheering-Wielgus (Nowa Lewica).

Among all 560 parliamentarians, only 27% are women (153). Their largest percent is held by the Left (41%) – among the 44 members of this group there are 18 activists. In 2021 we could most frequently hear Anna Żukowska (7,7 1000 times) and Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk (2.7 thousand). There are 60 Members and Senators (36%) in the Civic Coalition. During the period considered, the highest number of media speeches and speeches was recorded by Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, more than 6,000. Of the 260 MPs and Senators of Law and Justice there are 62 women (23%). Elżbieta Witek, who appeared in Polish media more than 9 1000 times, was the most distinguished of this group. The percent of women in clubs and circles below average is besides held by Coalition Poland – only 11%. The typical of this group is Urszula Pasławska present in the media 928 times.

Twitter favourite average politicians

Many Polish politicians in 2021 communicated in social media, most frequently on Twitter. From 1 July to 31 December, representatives of Polish politics published as many as 190 000 tweets and retweets — an average of 1,000 fresh entries appeared all day. IMM most, due to the fact that as many as 53,000 publications, twitter messages were recorded in November 2021.

The most active authors from this period are members of the PiS Club – together they generated 22 1000 entries, including Anna Milchanowska, who published almost 2.3 1000 information at the time, which is on average 75 per day. In another media types, the MP appeared only 23 times. The PiS Club accounts for 42% of the participation among all the clubs and parliamentary circles on Twitter. The second most active group was the Civic Coalition (35%), whose parliamentarians tweeted and retweeted over 18,000 times. In this group Adam Szejnfeld clearly led, who posted over 2,000 posts (average 70 per day). The 3rd most visible force on Twitter was Left (10%), whose members released over 5,000 tweets and retweets during the period 1-30 November 2021. Among them was Anna Żukowska, whose entries appeared almost 1.8 1000 times. The MP posted an average of 60 entries a day.

In turn, Confederacy's Twitter activity accounts for 6% of all parliamentary clubs and clubs. The most common publication in November was Krzysztof Bosak — about 38 posts a day. Next are Poland2050 (3%) and Paulina Henning-Klos with 10 entries each day and Coalition Poland (2%) and Dariusz Klimczak, who tweeted on average 7 times a day. The least active groups of November are the Agreement and the Polish Socialist Party.

Club Law and Justice with highest reach

In 2021, nearly 775 1000 statements by PiS Club politicians appeared in Polish media. The club's decisive leader in the media is Mateusz Morawiecki, who appeared as many as 165 1000 times due to the position of Prime Minister. According to IMM calculations, the statistical Pole could hear PiS messages on average 11 times a week. Reaching all the messages examined is estimated to be 19 billion. In the period from 1 July to 31 December 2021, the club's politicians were most frequently noted in Wnp.pl, Polskieradio24.pl, Tvn24.pl, Program I of Polish Radio, Program III of Polish Radio, TOK FM, Gazeta Polski Everyday, Rzeczpospolita, Gazeta Wyborcza, TVP Info, Events 24 and Polsat News.

Donald Tusk the most media policy of opposition

Citizen's Dinner activists recorded a presence of 246,000 in the media in 2021. Most often, due to the fact that almost 40,000 times, Donald Tusk appeared, who returned as PO president in July. According to the IMM, all Polish citizen could contact the message of opposition politicians on average 3 times a week, which is almost 4 times little than with the policies of the PIS (a scope estimated at 5 billion). Among the politicians most frequently present in the media are forty-four deputies coming from the Coalition Polish Left Club. Together, representatives of the club appeared in Polish media 54 1000 times. According to IMM, each Pole may have been in contact with their statements on average 3 times a period (approaching 1 billion). The most popular media are: Wnp.pl, Radio.opole.pl, Events.interia.pl, TVN24, Events 24, Polsat News, TOK FM, Radio Nowy Świat, Polskie Radio 24, Gazeta Wyborcza, Rzeczpospolita and Dziennik Trybuna.

In the Polish Coalition, the most medial Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz

Among the politicians most frequently present in the media are 44 deputies coming from the coalition Polselski Left Club. Together, representatives of the club appeared in Polish media 54 1000 times. According to IMM, each Pole may have been in contact with their statements on average 3 times a period (approaching 1 billion). The most popular media are: Wnp.pl, Radio.opole.pl, Events.interia.pl, TVN24, Events 24, Polsat News, TOK FM, Radio Nowy Świat, Polskie Radio 24, Gazeta Wyborcza, Rzeczpospolita and Dziennik Trybuna.

In 2021, a statistical Pole encountered the Confederation on average 22 times

The constituency of the Confederation represents 11 politicians. During the period analysed, Members appeared in Polish media more than 35 1000 times. According to the Media Monitoring Institute, a statistical Pole in 2021 could meet with the Confederacy's statements on average 22 times (approaching 699 million). The most popular types of media in which they were noted during the period 1 July to 31 December 2021 are: Wnp.pl, Dorzeczy.pl, Polsat News, TVP Info, Events 24, TVN24 or Radio Opole.

For half of the statements of politicians Poland2050 stands Szymon Hołownia

Among the most frequently spoken and further quoted politicians in the Polish media are besides 9 parliamentarians from Poland2050 and president Simon Holovnia. In 2021, nearly 26,000 of their speeches appeared with reaching 653 million contacts with the transmission. Almost half of their remittances (12 thousand) belonged to the head of the group. IMM estimates that the statistical resident of Poland may have had contact with the club's information on average 20 times. Media, in which the biggest presence of activists of Poland2050 was recorded, are: 300politika.pl, Radio.opole.pl, Wnp.pl, TVP Info, Events 24, TVN24, TOK FM, Radio Nowy Świat, Radio Zet, Rzeczpospolita, Gazeta Polska all day and Gazeta Wyborcza.

Jarosław Gowin Unquestionable Face of the Agreement

Among the most active politicians were members of the Agreement. Six MPs appeared in the mass media more than 41,000 times – 80% of all contributions, including citations, belonged to the organization president Jarosław Gowin. The scope of all circular messages was 490 million contacts, so all Pole could contact them on average no more than erstwhile a month. Regularly reporting their statements and speeches include: Wnp.pl, Tvn24.pl, Dorzeczy.pl, Radio ZET, Radio HIT, TOK FM, TVN24, Polsat News, TVN24 BiŚ, Rzeczpospolita, Gazeta Wyborcza, Gazeta Polska all day, Polish Warsaw Metropolitania or Dziennik Łódzki.

Koło Poselskie Kukiz’15 – Direct Democracy

4 Kukiz’15 MPs in 2021 were present in Polish media more than 12 1000 times, and a statistical Pole could hear them on average 9 times, which is little than erstwhile a month. The IMM states that reaching all transfers of the group during the period considered amounted to more than 288 million contacts. Media titles most commonly referring to the communications of the ellipse are: Wnp.pl, Wpolityka.pl, Wwiści.wp.pl, TVP Info, Events24, Polsat News, Polskie Radio 24, Program I of Polish Radio, Program III of Polish Radio, Rzeczpospolita, Super Express and Gazeta Polska Daily.

Parliamentary ellipse Polish Socialist Party

Among parliamentarians whose statements regularly appear in media specified as Wnp.pl, Tvn24.pl, Wwiści.gazeta.pl, TOK FM, Radio ZET, Nowy Świat, TVN24, TVP Info, Polsat News, Rzeczpospolita, Wprost and Gazeta Krakowska, there are 5 MPs of PPS. In 2021, they were seen more than 5,000 times in the mass media, and at the same time reached 152 million contacts — the average Pole could have encountered a wheel transfer on average 5 times throughout the year.

Circle of Polish Members

Test methodology

The analysis consisted of distinguishing the number of speeches and speeches by 560 parliamentarians, including their further citations in the media for the period from 1 January to 31 December 2021. Andrzej Duda, president of the Republic of Poland, Donald Tusk, president of the Civic Platform, Rafał Trzaskowski, president of Warsaw, Robert Biedron, MEP and Simon Holovnia, president of the Polish Party2050 was besides included in the list of monitored politicians. A full of 1,337,886 statements were analysed, including the citations of 565 politicians.

The survey was conducted on the basis of monitoring of net portals, national and regional press and radio stations in Poland during the period 1 January – 31 December 2021. From 1 July to 31 December 2021, the analysis besides included the statements and speeches of politicians in tv stations, as well as tweets and retweets from authoritative political accounts on Twitter. The most frequently visited media titles were analysed on a example of 10% of members of each dinner or ellipse in the period 1 July – 31 December 2021.
