"The Presidency is paired all six months, so for a country that takes over this Presidency in the Council of the Union, i.e. in the Council of Ministers, there is simply a chance at 3 levels. At the political level - the direction of the Union, sensitising everyone in the Union to the perception that comes from the country of the Presidency, in the case of Poland this is security. The second level is purely operational, i.e. we are chairing working groups, meetings of the Council of Ministers, in all configurations, in addition to the Ministers of abroad Affairs, which means we are moving through the legislative process. The Council of Ministers is 1 of the institutions that co-create EU law, and the European Union is primarily the creation of law. Not only the European Parliament, but the Council, that is, the countries co-decision what is being implemented. So Poland is liable for pushing various legislative processes." - said Dr. Małgorzata Bonikowska, president of the Centre for global Relations, in Onet Rano
