“in Ready” starts full steam!

Security, cyber-hygiene, endurance and first aid – these are the main topics of defence training for civilians from the "inReadiness" cycle. Start on Saturday 7 March. Weekend classes in military units across the country will last until November 21. However, those curious should hurry due to the fact that 1 3rd of the seats are already occupied.

Programme of universal voluntary defence training in readiness – pilot version last year – allows civilians to gain cognition and skills in the event of a crisis or military threat. Those curious may choose the subject of: medical and first aid courses, endurance (SERE elements), cyber-hygiene or safety and emergency management rules.

For a teenager and a grandfather

Anyone who has Polish citizenship and is 13 years old can apply (youth only under the care of 1 of the parents or legal guardians). Classes take place on weekends on set dates and last about 8 hours. Each associate may participate in all 4 parts of the training. “In the defence of the state, all citizen has a role, whether he wears a uniform or a weapon, or promotes safety through knowledge, skills and informed action in his surroundings”, said Colonel Marek Pietrzak, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Polish Army.

The interest in the program is great. 9 1000 people have come forward so far. Half of the volunteers selected at least 2 trainings, and 5% decided to participate in a full four-module cycle. The most popular courses in the field of cyberhygiena are: 85% of seats already occupied, first aid (78%) and endurance (77%). They besides want to be young. Persons under the age of 18 have already submitted 1,000 applications.
