“Our homeland and our troubled planet request us to be like St. Patrick – strong and active witnesses of peace, faith, hope and love” wrote Archbishop Armagh and Primate of Ireland Archbishop Eamon Martin in a message on the occasion of the celebration of the country’s patron saint, St. Patrick.
Archbishop Marin noted that present many young people search meaning, hope and peace in a planet full of anxiety, wars and uncertainty. In this context, he warned against closing himself in the “cokon” of faith. “Our homeland and our troubled planet request us to be like Saint Patrick – strong and active witnesses of peace, faith, hope and love. We ask St. Patrick, especially this year, to intercede for all who endure from war and force in our troubled planet – and to give courage and determination to build peace" - emphasised the Primate of Ireland. "Let St. Patrick be with you, let him lead you and your families; let him give his grace to your loved ones and all the friends of Ireland all over the world, present and always," wrote Archbishop Armagh.
