Veto on SAFE. A dispute of PLN 200 billion and a storm in the network

The president says no, the Prime Minister says shame. The dispute over EU billions for defence broke out with full force. Karol Nawrocki vetoed the law implementing the SAFE programme. Donald Tusk announced an immediate government response. In the background is EUR 43.7 billion and the question of the limits of sovereignty. Veto and strong words The decision came on Thursday night. In his message, the president announced that he would not sign the SAFE Act. He said directly: I made a decision that I would not sign a bill that allows Poland to borrow SAFE. I will never sign a bill that strikes our sovereignty, independence, economical and military security. It wasn't a method remark to the rules. It was a signal.
