Weidel in Budapest: Orbán's support for the AfD

On 11-12 February, the chancellor candidate of the far-right alternate for Germany (AfD) party, Alice Weidel, paid a visit to Budapest. During a joint press conference, which lasted almost an hour, Viktor Orbán stated that he considered all of the AfD's programme solutions, including the approach to migration and energy policy, to be 'good for Hungary'. He stressed the request to end the Russian-Ukrainian war and accused the EU of seeking to prolong it, and called for a departure from the policy of sanctions against Russia.
